Traveling in 2016

Year of Traveling

2016 was our year of traveling.  In February we were able to get everyone together for a week down in Cancun.  Great fun in the warmth of the sun and on the beaches there.  Peter came back a day early so he could ski the Birkebiener.  

In April, Judy and I joined a team from our church on a mission trip for a week to Antigua, Guatemala with the organization Common Hope.  That was an amazing experience.

We got in a couple of quick trips to Traverse City.  Judy got in an extra trip there and a trip to Cleveland in September and October.

In October I went with my brother-in-law Tom Krause and a total of 20 people rafting for two weeks down the Colorado River thru the Grand Canyon.  What an awesome trip that was.  We had fabulous weather.  The scenery was stunning.  Running the rapids was exciting.  When we were paddling our job was to follow the commands of our guide (who did the steering)  Usually it was, “Paddle hard, all forward.  Keep paddling.”

In December we were able to get to Cleveland the weekend before Christmas for an early “Cleveland Christmas.”  Peter and Sarah and the kids were able to join us so we were all together then.
