Mothers Elda & Verna

For both Judy and I, we continue with the challenges of aging mothers.  Fortunately we have other family members to help and that continues to be very important.

Judy’s mother, Elda, broke her left ankle this past October.  She didn’t need surgery, but needed to be non weight bearing in a cast for 8 weeks.  She had to be in the care center for the first month, but now is back in her assisted living apartment with additional help.  We’ll see what the future holds as she works to regain strength.

My mom’s physical health has been good.  She continues to slowly slip on the memory scale.  She is always delighted to see people, but won’t remember visiting with them.   She will play piano when coaxed and music is put in front of her.  Her sister Ruth came up in August to help celebrate Mom’s 91st birthday.  Ruth and Mom played some very lovely piano duets.
