Bryan and Suzi are in their last year in Chicago.  Bryan will finish his 4th year of medical school in the spring.  He has been quite busy this fall with the application process for residency, applying for a position in a urology residency.  He has submitted his ranking choices and now just has to wait.  The match day for urology residencies is January 23, and then he will find out where he will go next.   Urology residency is either 5 or 6 years, depending on the program (whether a year of research is included or not).  Then he and Suzi will have to start the planning process to move.  Suzi continues to work for the Illinois Eye Bank, now in charge of quality improvement.  This keeps the Eye Bank ready for things like random FDA inspections (which occurred over Christmas, and they passed).  Suzi plans to start a master’s of nutrition program this coming fall, after Bryan has started his residency.  They have been working to coordinate for both of them.  Again, the match day will then make it clearer on at least where they will be going.
