Judy

Judy has changed jobs this year.  She is now the Principal of Gethsemane Lutheran School in Maplewood.  She found that the position as director of a charter school was just too impossibly demanding both from a time and emotional commitment.  At least as Principal she only has to wear one hat. Gethsemane has gone thru a period of strife, so work at rebuilding is a tall order.  The summer and fall also found us caring for Judy’s parents as her dad faced numerous increasingly serious medical conditions.  Emil died September 3, just after Judy and her siblings had helped her mom move into an assisted living apartment in the Crest View complex.  His funeral celebrations here and in Colorado affirmed Emil’s eternal life as a child of God. We are so thankful that they had moved here from Colorado in 2005.

I continue to practice at the Bloomington Lake Clinic, but it seems changes occur continually.  We have had a had a more tumultuous year with staff turnover within our support staff; adding one new doctor, but losing another.  The biggest change for the practice is now looming--converting to an electronic health record.  I know I had mentioned in both of the last two years letters that we were working to select a system; we did select one this fall and now are in the planning to implement.  This should be another 3-5 month process.  I’m very excited about it, but it has taken more of my  “spare” time.  As a result I haven’t had as much chance to work on the family genealogy records, but I still want to keep them as current as we can.
